Perhaps the biggest challenge facing the church is wrong thoughts about Jesus. This seems to be as true today as it has been for two-thousand years. Along with wrong thinking about Christ comes another formidable challenge to the church, which is not living Christ. Christology and Christopraxy; who Christ is and how we live in light of who Christ is. This is what Paul was dealing with in the letter to the Colossians and it is what the church has dealt with in every community, culture and time since the Cross. Colossians offers us some of the most worshipful, Christ-exalting passages in all of Scripture and challenges us and encourages us to not be lead into myth, or to be deceived into a life that is anything other than centered around the supremacy and full-sufficiency of Jesus. May God tear down the idols of our disbelief and reorient us to the truth of who Jesus really is and who we are called to be in Christ.
